Atlantic City To Host Local Let It Fly Flag Football Qualifier
EVENT WILL CONSIST OF MORE THAN 100 TEAMS AND OVER 300 SPECTATORS
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (September 15, 2015) As the start of Fall and football season are upon us, football fans and recreational teams are flocking to the beaches to get back that last chance at summer fun.
Teaming up with the Philadelphia Soul, Philly Sports and Social Club and the Atlantic City Sports Commission, local flag football teams from up and down the East Coast will compete for a spot in the National Finals in Virginia Beach, Virginia as a part of the United States Beach Flag Football Association (USBFFBA).
The Atlantic City Sports Commission has set the qualifier date for Saturday, October 3 and Sunday, October 4, 2015 on the Atlantic City beach, between the famous Steel Pier and the LandShark Bar & Grill. Unlike the typical flag football setting, beach flag football is an entirely different game. With sand replacing grass or turf, different muscles will be tested as players try to maintain balance and speed, all while going all out to catch a ball and have a much softer landing. The flag football qualifier will consist of more than 100 teams, which will include men, women and co-ed teams and will consist of over 300 spectators. Although, different from the norm, this tournament is looking like a perfect weekend outing for spectators. Where else can you watch football and drink margaritas on the beach?
“Let It Fly Flag Football cannot wait to come to Atlantic City and play a regional/national qualifier on the beach,” said NASG Managing Partner, Rob Thompson. “We [Let It Fly] are constantly evolving and looking to challenge our players and keep them excited about the game, adding a beach element to the flag football lineup is only the beginning.”
Let It Fly (formerly NFL Air It Out) has been operating for 25 years under the North American Sports Group (NASG) family of brands and flag football is now played on the beaches in both international and domestic settings.
