Connect Travel - Top Venues in Atlantic City to Host Your Next Competition
When it comes to hosting sporting events, it’s hard to compete with Atlantic City, New Jersey. You can bet that after a hundred years of providing award-winning hospitality to visitors from around the world, the city has the space, services and amenities to accommodate any size event, race or competition.
One of our most popular sports venues is Atlantic City Convention Center. With more than 600,000 square feet (that’s almost 11 football fields!) of event space, the convention center is ready to host everything, from tournaments to expos and invitationals to championships. And since there’s more to an event than what’s happening on the field, our team is ready to help you prepare the convention center’s five exhibit halls and 45 meetings rooms for breakouts, networking events and executive lunches.
Want your attendees to be inspired? Plan a remarkable event alongside the Atlantic Ocean. The world famous Atlantic City Boardwalk gives you the space and scenery to host a world-class triathlon, road race or beach volleyball competition. The Boardwalk is famous for its restaurants, attractions and shops, as well as its direct access to Atlantic City’s free beaches.
Less than a mile away from the Boardwalk, Bader Field is another amazing venue with fantastic views. This 142-acre former airport has plenty of room to accommodate motocross races, soccer tournaments and endurance sports, and all the parking, concession space and staging areas offer plenty of space as well. Plus, the venue is situated at the end of a peninsula, so there’s always a refreshing ocean breeze to keep competitors and spectators cool.
Fun fact: It’s believed Bader Field was where the term “airport” was first used, in 1919. And it’s not the only sporting venue in Atlantic City to appear in the history books. Historic Boardwalk Hall hosted the country’s first indoor college football game in 1930. Forty years later, it was the site of the country’s first indoor helicopter flight. Since its opening in 1929, the hall’s vast event space has hosted everything, from the Miss America Pageant to the Democratic National Convention. Today, the 141,000-sq.-ft. arena is a popular location for indoor football, hockey, car racing and other sports.
These venues are not the only things that will make your event unforgettable for attendees and spectators. Atlantic City is famous for its beaches, delicious culinary scene and lively nightlife. They don’t call this city “America’s Playground” for nothing.
